"God has given us a world to live in that is full of beauties and wonders and has given us not only eyes to see them but minds to understand them, if we only have the sense to look at them in that light."

Lord Baden-Powell
Founder of Scouting

Parents in Uniform

For Parents, Moms or Dads, who want a more hands on experience, a Troop can almost never have too many Assistant Scoutmasters. And for Cub Packs, the need for uniformed adult leaders is even greater.

Never been a Scout Leader, but always wanted to give it a try? BSA has great training programs that can turn the most office bound couch potato into a Daniel Boone trail blazer in no time.

Remember: BSA has a policy of two-deep leadership. That means that there must be two adults present at all times.

So get involved! Experience shows that a unit with strong parent involvement will thrive while a unit with weak parent involvement withers.

109 wants your kid, but we want you too!

Parent's Committee

What role does the Scout Parent Play?

With any Scout Troop, there's lots to do and the more involved the parents are, the better things work. At 109, we ask that the parents attend the monthly Parent's Committee. If you can't make it, we understand. We wont kick your kid out, but you'll be missing all the fun! After all, being involved with a BSA unit should be buckets of fun - not flu shots. We work hard on that at 109.

Parent's Committee meets on the Second Tuesday of each month.

All Parents are voting members. Other voting members include, the Unit Leadership, Senior Patrol Leader and at Large Members.
