CREW CALENDAR |
|
(Several calendar items are still being planned and finalized to the extent possible. Dates are subject to change.) |
The CREW calendar for the current year is planned by the Crew's Scouts during the previous calendar year. The calendar is then approved for feasibility by the Crew Advisor/CAA and committtee members.
The Crew calendar remains somewhat dynamic - unforeseen changes must occasionally be made as a result of venue availability, district/council planning changes, availability of Crew leadership (both youth and adult), accommodation of other Crew and Troop activities, etc.
Please check the calendar often, in the pdf file linked above, as changes
are made and published as soon as it is possible to do so. The date in the top-right corner of the pdf file changes as updates are made.

TRAINING UPDATE |
The Sam Houston Area Council is implementing the new National requirements for required training for all adult leaders. In preparation, Crew 1333 asks all of its adult leaders to complete required training as soon as possible! Training certifications from classes you have previously completed must be current (i.e., not expired) in order to fulfill the new National requirements. Please contact Daniel De Maranville with questions, or to provide copies of training course completion certificates to document your training. |
TRAINING REQUIREMENTS |
A new leader must complete Youth Protection Training before that adult's leader registration form can be submitted. By January, 2016, all Crew Advisors must be "fully trained," as defined below. |
A "fully trained" Venture Crew leader has completed: |
- This is Scouting* (formerly New Leader Essentials) for all adult leaders
- Youth Protection Training* (must be renewed every 24 months) for all adult leaders
- Leader Specific Training for the leadership position held for Crew Advisor and Assistants.
- Troop Committee Challenge* for committee members
- Introduction to Outdoor Leader Skills (ITOLS) for Scoutmaster and ASMs
The crew also asks that adult leaders complete theHazardous Weather* training, particularly if you participate, or intend to participate, in troop outings. * These courses are available online from the Online Learning Center. You will be asked to login to your MyScouting.org account, or to create a MyScouting.org account if you don't already have one. Your BSA ID number is located on your scout position ID card. If you need your BSA ID number, please contact a Crew Committee Chair - tked@sbcglobal.net or (713) 824-3867 Venture Youth Crew Training: Introduction to Leadership Skills for Crews |
